This elm tree, known as the Feather Duster Elm, was one of Wolfeboro's best known landmarks in the early 1900's. A popular subject for photographers, postcards and artists, it was located on South Main Street, where. later, Bailey's Restaurant parking lot existed (now Morrissey's). The picturesque elms were located throughout the town, but died out from Dutch Elm disease starting around the 1950's.
