Site of the Governor John Wentworth Mansion, which burned down Sept. 12, 1820. The stone foundation outlines the basement, with large elm trees having taken route. The location, off Route 109, and near the shores of Lake Wentworth (originally called Smith's Pond) is now a State Historical Site.
