The Lorenzo T. Grant homestead, later owned by his son, Charles R. Grant, was located on South Main St. to the left of the South Wolfeboro Schoolhouse. The 2 & 1/2 story front is the original building. The ell was added later. The building on the right was a blacksmith shop operated by Andrew J. French; the second floor was a carpenter shop. All buildings were torn down by 1964. The Grant family were operators of a large livery business. Wilma Grant, a daughter of Charles R. & his wife, Clara, was a noted educator & historian.
