The John Pickering Tavern on South Main St. was built by John, c. 1813. Photo is c. 1890. It later became the home of his brother, Daniel Pickering, one of the town's most prominent businessmen. The junction of South Main St. & Center St. is still known as "Pickering Corner". The building has recently been restored. The names of the people and dog are unknown.
