The Wolfeboro Falls group covers the area of Center St. around the Smith River, Back Bay, and Factory St., now Lehner St. As there are no specific borders, there will be some overlap with the Lake Wentworth group and some downtown views.
Originally called Mill Village, reflecting the many business that were powered by water from the Smith River, the name changed to Wolfeboro Falls around 1890. The change was initiated by the Railroad because there was a Mill Village somewhere else on their lines. There are no defined borders, but the area got its own Post Office in 1892, located in the Railroad Station. Now in Clark Plaza, the Post Office is still active today, but without any home delivery, only P.O. boxes.
